Summer Story Time – Last Chance!

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more you learn, the more places you’ll go.” — Dr. Seuss

Reading to your child is one of the greatest gifts a parent can give. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, reading aloud with young children is one of the most effective ways to expose them to enriched language and encourage literacy skills to promote school readiness.

Did you know the city of Forney is promoting literacy, serving the community, and teaching compassion all at once? The city of Forney Animal Shelter has been hosting a summer story time event on Fridays. The last event of the summer will be Friday, August 4 at 10:30am.

By visiting the animal shelter, you will be showing your child compassion for animals as well as the meaning of serving the community. The shelter staff and volunteers put in countless hours taking care of animals and finding them homes. Join the shelter this Friday at 10:30am, 201 Holly Leaf Trail, Forney, TX and join in on the fun!
